Dartford dancer Claudia Carlier in Britain's Got Talent semi-finals

A teenager from Dartford will perform live on Britain’s Got Talent tonight after wowing the judges and making it into the semi-final.

Claudia Carlier is one third of street dance trio Code 3 who impressed Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams during an audition at Birmingham Hippodrome shown on Saturday.

The 14-year-old is a pupil at Sugarfree Streetdance, part of former Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman’s Goodman Dance Academy in Market Street, Dartford.

The two girls dancing with Claudia are 16-year-old Maria Gauronskaite from Erith and Tag Garwood, 15, who travels down from Cambridge to go to the Dartford school.

Sugarfree Streetdance is run by Claudia’s mum Louise Carlier, who said the youngsters are looking forward to their live television performance.

She said: “Claudia got into dancing through me. I’ve taught at Goodman for 30 years and she came along with me as a baby.

"She just joined in herself when she was about four and has been dancing ever since.

"She does all styles, including ballet, tap and jazz.

"Street is her favourite but she also loves musicals and does drama and singing.

"She has two brothers but they’re not interested in dancing.

“The girls are really excited. They do street dance choreographed to popular chart music.

"On Saturday they performed to Meghan Trainor’s Me Too and Perm by Bruno Mars.

“The judges were really nice. Simon said they were amazing.”

Claudia, who also goes to Sylvia Young Theatre School in London and hopes to progress to a dance school afterwards, has been practising with her pals every day this week.

Taking a break from rehearsals, she told our sister paper the Medway Messenger: “We’re nervous about performing in front of a live audience but also very excited.”

Code 3’s dance moves are choreographed by their teacher Sarah Richards, who had danced with artists including Kanye West, Little Mix and Girls Aloud.

Claudia reached the live semi-finals of Got to Dance, shown on Sky 1, in 2010 with her group Juicy and has appeared in West End musicals Matilda and Annie but this is the biggest thing she has been involved in.

A number of acts will perform on tonight's episode of Britain’s Got Talent before an audience vote determines which two go through to the live final on Saturday.

The song they will dance to remains under wraps but the girls’ influences include Beyonce and Little Mix.

The show’s overall winner walks away with £250,000 and chance to appear at the Royal Variety Performance.
