Driver from Dartford has minor injuries in Icklesham crash where Hastings man dies

A Kent car driver was taken to hospital for minor injuries after a crash in Sussex in which a motorcyclist died.

The 53-year-old Dartford man was in a Ford Focus car with a 51-year-old passenger yesterday when it was in a crash with a motorbike.

The 61-year-old Hastings Triumph motorbike rider died at the scene of the crash, on the A259 at Icklesham just after 10am.

Sgt Neil Walker, of the Sussex road policing unit, said: "Sadly the motorcyclist involved lost his life.

"We would ask anyone who saw what happened or who noticed either vehicle being driven shortly before the collision to contact us as soon as possible.

"They can do so by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by phoning 101, quoting Operation Marwell."

The coroner for East Sussex has been informed.
