A schoolboy has been robbed by a knife-wielding teenager wearing a bandana in Swanley.

The 15-year-old was on his way home from school when he was targeted in an alley leading from Woodlands Close and Northview to Swanley Park shortly before 4pm yesterday.

The robber had come from the direction of the woods leading to Swanley Park.

He threatened his victim with a knife before the boy handed over an iPhone 5 mobile phone and a small Armani bag with a long strap containing a house key.

"We have a good description of the offender and are hopeful that someone will know who he is..." - DC Rory Niblock

The victim was then told to run away in the direction he had come from.

DC Rory Niblock, from Kent Police, said: "We have a good description of the offender and are hopeful that someone will know who he is.

"He was white, of thin build and with black hair. He was wearing a blue tracksuit and a baseball cap, and kept his face covered with a black bandana. He is believed to be perhaps 16 or 17 years-old.

"The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result but clearly this is a serious offence and it is in the public's interest to help us being the offender to justice.

"It was a warm afternoon and if the robber made off through the park perhaps someone saw him there?"

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 - quoting crime reference YY/13648/13.
