Man assaulted after crash on A2 at Darenth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist was assaulted following a collision on the London-bound A2 at Darenth.

Police say a Vauxhall Astra and a vehicle thought to be a black Volkswagen, crashed at around 7pm on Friday, February 5.

Both men pulled onto the hard shoulder and the 23-year-old Astra driver was attacked.

He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. The other man is white, aged around 30, of slim build, approximately 6ft tall and had short brown hair.

He was wearing jeans and a black jacket and his car is thought to have been a 56 plate.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kelly Tindall said: "Inquiries are ongoing to locate the driver of one of the vehicles. It is possible this vehicle has damage on the driver’s side.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has information about the vehicle involved, to contact police as you may be able to help with ongoing inquiries."
