Man charged with handling stolen moped in Swanley

A man has been charged with a string of offences including handling a stolen moped after a suspicious vehicle was spotted in an industrial estate.

Charlie O’Grady-Thomas, 21, of Swanley, was also charged with receiving stolen goods, obstructing an officer, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving without a valid driving licence.

Officers reported the suspicious vehicle on Saturday, May 12, at around 11am in an industrial estate off London Road in Swanley.

As they approached, a moped drove away, and O’Grady-Thomas was arrested at his home in Laburnum Avenue a short time later.

The moped, which was reported stolen in Surrey on Friday, February 9, was seized by officers.

He was bailed to attend Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on May 29.
