A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a recent spate of village burglaries.

Carl Smith, 31, of Billet Hill, Ash, was arrested yesterday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Magistrates Court today.

He was charged with two counts of burglary and three counts of attempted burglary at homes in the New Ash Green, all in the space of a week.

The incidents took place between Monday, July 17, and Sunday, July 23.
