Man in court over death of father-of-three

A man accused of assisting an offender in relation to the death of a father-of-three has appeared in court for another hearing.

Lewis Wickenden, 25, of Overy Street, Dartford, appeared before Medway magistrates in connection with assisting his partner, Michaela Sargeant, who has been charged with murdering Kevin McKinley, pictured left.

Wickenden is also charged with possessing a semi-automatic single-barrel shotgun and shotgun cartridges without a firearms certificates.

He appeared via virtual link from prison, did not enter any pleas in relation to the charges and no application was made for bail.

The case against him on Friday was adjourned and sent to Maidstone Crown Court, where he will appear on Friday, March 1.

Wickenden is the boyfriend of Sargeant, who has already been remanded in custody.

Father-of-three Mr McKinley, 32, of Louvain Road, Stone, was shot in Merryweather Close, Dartford, on February 12.
