The rider, who has not been named but is from Dartford, died yesterday after the accident with a Ford Fusion van on the busy road in Whatlington.
Sgt Dan Pitcher, of Sussex Police, said: "Paramedics attended to the man who sadly died at the scene.
"Officers would like to thank motorists for their understanding and patience while the road was closed for several hours as they investigated the circumstances."
Anyone who saw the crash, or the moments beforehand, is asked to contact police on 101 or email email@example.com quoting Operation Glaven.
