Police investigate M25 crash near Orpington that caused long delays

Police are investigating after a car driver claimed they were in collision with a lorry that failed to stop on the M25.

Kent Police was called at 8.20pm to reports of a white car facing the wrong way on the carriageway between junction 4, A21 near Orpington, and junction 5 for the M26.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and it appears the vehicle was in collision with a lorry which was no longer at the scene. No injuries were reported and enquiries are on-going."

Lanes one and two were closed immediately after the accident but all lanes are now open.

Kent fire and Rescue were called to the scene along with ambulance crews.

The crashed car was recovered just after 9pm.
