New free youth activity bus service launched in Stone providing activities for 11-18 year olds

A new free youth activity bus service has been launched in Stone providing free activities for 11-18 year olds.

The double-decker orange bus starts running sessions at Stone Pavilion today and then every Thursdays between 4pm-6pm.

The council also plans to park at alternative locations across the parish in coming weeks.

Activities on board include Wii and PS3, games, sports equipment, tea bar, chill-out area, and music studio.

Chairman of the council Cllr John Burrell said: "The council has been very vocal in its support for youth over the past two terms and this has been demonstrated through installation of new sporting equipment, free activity days, and more recently through the launch of our new parish youth service which is a three-year programme.

"We are excited to see the early beginnings of a youth council for Stone as this will provide us with a worthy mechanism through which we can consult on issues and obtain valuable feedback on council policies affecting local youth."

If you are aged between 11 and 18 and would like to find out more about joining the youth council or the weekly youth activities, call Toni on 07966 966090 or email clerk@stoneparishcouncil.com
