Bomb discovered at Dartford construction site was empty and will be taken away

A device found on a building site in Dartford will be taken away by the RAF after it was found to be empty.

Kent Police were called to a site near the Questor Industrial Estate at 3.45pm yesterday.

Officers sealed off a small area in A225 Hawley Road, while the explosive ordnance disposal unit examined the wartime device.

Members of the public were earlier advised to stay away from the area while checks were carried out.

But it's now been revealed the device was empty, and the RAF are due to take it away later today.
