Police respond to serious incident at Darenth Country Park

Police and paramedics have descended on a country park after a man was found dead in woodland.

Several response care and two ambulances were called to the Green Street Green Road entrance of Dartford's Darenth County Park after a member of the public made the grim discovery just after midday.

A spokesman said: "We were called at 12.06pmto a report of a man’s body being found on woodland below the A2 flyover near to Green Street Green Road, Dartford.

"Officers attended and the death is currently being treated as non-suspicious."

The entrance to the popular beauty spot was cordoned off while officers conducted their inquiries.

An hour before the incident officers had been called to nearby Darenth Wood Road after reports of a disturbance.

No offence had been committed and they soon left the area.
