Police hunt wanted man after car chase through Kent

Police are hunting a wanted man after chasing a stolen car through two counties this morning.

Kent Police patrols responded to a report that a stolen car was travelling from Essex into Kent on the M25 just after 7am.

The vehicle then travelled onto the A224 towards London before being abandoned in the Orpington area, and police say enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.

Kent Police's Roads Policing Unit provided updates on twitter, initially stating: "Stolen Vehicle pursuit into @metpoliceuk@NPASRedhill@EPRoadsPolicing. Vehicle decamp into an estate. Officers on foot and awaiting dog unit."

They later added: "Well we haven’t caught the baddie although he’s been identified and is wanted for burglary, assault police and recall and that’s why he stole this car. He can now add dangerous driving."
