Dartford Valley Rugby Club spreads Christmas cheer with festive fundraiser for ellenor

More than £600 is winging its way to hospice charity ellenor just in time for Christmas thanks to the efforts of Dartford Valley Rugby Club (DVRFC).

Players and coaching staff roamed the streets on Sunday night sporting their very best festive attire as part of the club’s annual 12 Bars of Christmas shindig.

The motley crew of Santas, elves and reindeer began their epic booze-fuelled journey at The Orange Tree in Hawley Road and swung by another 11 pubs before the night was out.

DVRFC’s Gavin Drummond said: “The event just gets bigger and bigger every year. We are proud to be associated with ellenor and the fantastic work they do for families, especially at this time of year.”

A grand total of £601.90 was raised for the Gravesend-based charity and a cheque was handed over at its shop in Dartford town centre on Monday afternoon.
