Arriva bus 414 crashes in Dartford

A bus driver has been reported for driving without due care and attention after a second crash in a town in less than a week.

Police were called to Hawley Road, Dartford, at 4.20pm yesterday (Monday) after the 414 Arriva service, which runs between the town and Sutton-at-Hone, collided with a parked car.

It came just six days after the 480 Arriva service ploughed into 25 cars in the centre of the town, injuring 18 people.

The 52-year-old driver, from Northfleet, was arrested on suspicion of careless driving but two days later following a spell in hospital he was released pending further inquiry.

Luckily all passengers and the driver escaped injury and Kent Police spokesman Lucy Hurdle confirmed the driver has been reported.

An Arriva spokesman confirmed an internal investigation is underway.
