Teenager charged with assault on taxi driver

A teenager has been charged with assaulting a taxi driver in Dartford.

The driver took a customer from Hythe Street in the town to Summerhill Road at about 5.40am on August 17.

When he asked for the fare, he was assaulted and suffered injuries to his face, hands, shins and knees. He also needed hospital treatment for a fractured eye socket.

A 17-year-old boy from Greenhithe, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested and charged with common assault and bailed to appear before Dartford magistrates on September 10.
