Witnesses are being sought after three people were seriously hurt in a crash on the M25 near Dartford.

Two vehicles were involved in the smash with an HGV on the anticlockwise carriageway, just past the slip road off at J2 at about 12.30pm last Thursday.

Occupants of one car - three Dutch nationals - were all seriously injured and taken to a London hospital for treatment.

The HGV driver, a 34-year-old man, was arrested and has been bailed until Wednesday, August 20.

Crews from Kent Fire and Rescue used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of one car and released three people who were trapped.

The crash led to long delays into the evening, with motorists caught up in hours of queues.

Witnesses are asked to phone police on 01622 798538.
