New bibs, cones and training balls are giving young footballers the best possible preparation for match day.

Barratt Homes has signed up to sponsor Swanscombe Tigers Football Club and provide equipment to help the teams — from under-sevens to the men’s squad — hone their skills.

Chairman Kevin Basson said: “We are extremely grateful. As a club, we are proud of our ability to provide football to players of all abilities and we do so in a fun, safe and friendly environment which is open to all.

“We are constantly seeking to add teams at all levels, and this season are particularly looking for girls and ladies interested in playing, so please do contact us if you are keen.”

Natalie Perry, head of sales for Barratt, which is involved in the Castle Hill development at nearby Ebbsfleet Garden City, said: “We are very proud to be supporting Swanscombe Tigers FC with the donation of training equipment. The club is a huge part of the local community.”
