Dartford will show Lowestoft every respect when they visit Princes Park in the FA Cup on Saturday but boss Tony Burman says they needn’t fear a team with several similarities to themselves.

Lowestoft are flying high in the Ryman League, Premier Division, playing in front of crowds approaching 1,000, having romped to the Division 1 North title last season.

The club’s owners have ambitions for further progress and will have a chance to test their credentials against Burman’s reigning Ryman League champions.

Burman said: "I love the cup, it is a great competition and the prizemoney and publicity it gets non-league teams is fantastic."

He also drew comparisons between Lowestoft being drawn against the Darts and Dartford’s trip to Dover in last year’s competition, saying: "Last year people said we were the dangerous team to draw but we still lost at Dover."

He added: "We believe in what we’re doing and we’ve got what we were looking for, a home draw.

"We will give them a lot of respect. They deserve it because they are doing well in their division but we want to get through and I’m confident we can."

Darts will put their eight-game unbeaten home run – stretching back to the 1-0 defeat to Margate on March 23 – on the line.

Billy Burgess is the only absentee as he recovers from a disclocated shoulder.
