A woman has been cut from from a car and taken to hospital following a crash on the A2

A woman was taken to hospital following a crash on the A2 near Dartford.

Emergency services were called to the coast-bound carriageway, just off the M25, at around 2.15pm today.

The car, which was the only vehicle involved, had left the road and stopped on a verge.

Two lanes were temporarily closed to allow firefighters, using hydraulic cutting equipment, to free the woman from the vehicle.

She was taken to hospital for treatment on what were described as minor injuries.

Firefighters and police left the scene at 3.30pm.
