Tom Bradbrook was lost for words after firing Dartford into the FA Cup second round for the first time since 1984.

Bradbrook's header, eight minutes from time, earned the Darts a 4-3 win at the end of a cup classic which was played out in front of 4,105 at Hayes Lane.

"It was fantastic," Bradbrook said. "It's the first time I've ever played in the first round, so to get the winner and get to the second round is brilliant. There's no words to explain.

"The boys are battering me a bit (about the goal) because I think it came off my shoulder in the end.

"I’m not looking forward to seeing that later but it doesn’t matter at the end of the day. If it goes in the goal, it doesn’t matter, does it? It’s a goal and I’m over the moon."

Dartford trailed at half-time but led twice in the second half, only for Bromley to fight back and draw level on both occasions. Bradbrook's goal finally killed off the Conference South club.

He said: "It was a typical FA Cup tie. We came in at half-time and we were all disappointed because I don't think we actually played that bad. We started a bit slow and they got that quick goal and it knocked us for six.

"We always knew that we could get back into it, which we did straight away. We always had that belief but we gave away a few sloppy goals - one of them was my fault, actually - but to go and get the winner was fantastic.

"We knew it was going to be a big crowd because they’re two well-supported teams. The Dartford fans were fantastic , they got behind us right from the start.

"To play in front of that crowd, in the FA Cup, it’s fantastic. You can’t beat it.

"All of those goals going in, it was just unbelievable. For the fans, it must have been nerve-wracking towards the end but to be involved in a game like that is special and to win it is great."

The second round draw is live on BBC2 at 7pm on Monday.
