Dartford may be out of the FA Cup but manager Tony Burman was proud of his players at Bradford.

Burman's side lost 4-1 to a Bantams outfit sitting 10th in League 1.

He said: "We’re very proud of the players and what they’ve achieved in the cup competition.

"They’ve not let us down, although the scoreline was more than we would have liked and the result’s different to what we’d have liked. We played a very, very good side, that’s for sure. We didn’t give up, we kept going and plugging away.

"There’s no shame in us getting this club to the second round of the FA Cup. That’s the pride we should show. We haven’t been here for 30 years and it’s another step in the right direction.

"I enjoyed it and the players have enjoyed it. They’ve tried their best. No-one’s given up and no-one’s let us down. They’ve done what they could do and that’s all I can ask for."

Burman also praised the 471 Dartford fans who roared their team on at Valley Parade.

"That’s a lot of people who have travelled up here," he said. "They’ve given us their best and we’ve tried our best.

"The first two goals, we should have done better at, but we’re extremely proud of the players and what they’ve done for us in the cup competition.

"They’ve had some fantastic support as well with the guys who have travelled up here."

Dartford now face two more cup games in different competitions this week.

They're away to Gillingham in the Kent Senior Cup second round on Wednesday and at home to Solihull Moors in the FA Trophy first round on Saturday.
