Dartford boss Tony Burman on problems signing replacement for Gibraltar international Deren Ibrahim

Manager Tony Burman is sending Dartford goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim off on international duty with Gibraltar with his blessing, but says replacing him has been a nightmare.

Ibrahim is set to fly out on Sunday to join the squad for next week's World Cup qualifier in Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing a shoulder problem sustained conceding the opening goal in the 5-3 win over Truro doesn't prove serious.

The Darts boss said: "I have got somebody coming in from a league club as cover for our next two games on Monday, but you wouldn't believe the problems we had last week.

"We haven't got enough players being called up to get matches off, but it is such an important position, it's been an absolute nightmare trying to get cover in.

"I had three or four clubs willing to help us on Thursday and we had options - keepers who were down the pecking order, but people got injured and it was amazing what happened.

"I was hoping to have someone signed and done, but so many things went wrong, none of which were our fault."

He added: "The deadlne is up on Thursday, and when goalkeepers are loaned to you, the clubs want them to play, and I may have to put Deren on the bench.

"We have got another young keeper Tony Coxall, but I can't play him and put him under that pressure, it's not right.

"One day he will be a very good, but he is not ready right now."

Burman denied he was disappointed with his team's defending against Truro, while admitting it wasn't as good as usual.

"Maybe Del could have done a bit better for the first one, I don't know until i see it, and he slipped over for the second one as he came for the free-kick," he said.

"Overall we have been great at the back, but perhaps we wasn't as good as we have been in other games.

"Truro probably feel they should have got something out of the game, but we have come back from going behind and conceding three goals. That's credit to the players, because the most important thing at this stage of the season is to get three points.

"It doesn't matter whether your have or haven't played well, it's all about the win.

"We have been a bit tense in recent games, and haven't finished teams off as well as we were doing earlier in the season.

"We needed the crowd, who I thought were good, and stayed with us when the chips were down, and we were conceding the goals.

"I can't promise we can play perfect football every week, but it's the result which counts."

Burman was also full of praise for man-of-the-match Duane Ofori-Acheampong whose three assists proved the inspiration behind the win, highlighted by his work in the build-up to the first goal.

He said: "Duane has done that all season, he is carrying a knee injury which needs to be monitored ahead of the game against Margate on Tuesday."
