Dartford manager Tony Burman on 3-1 National League South win over Whitehawk

Darts boss Tony Burman said the only thing missing from a 'comfortable' National League South win over Whitehawk was a ruthless streak infront of goal.

Ryan Hayes, Tom Murphy and Andy Pugh scored to make it six straight league wins, and 10 in the last 11 at home, with a 3-1 success over the struggling Sussex side on Saturday.

However despite seeing his side close the gap to leaders Maidenhead to four points after they were held by Poole, Burman claimed 'we really should have increased our lead' against a side who knocked Darts out of the FA Trophy last season and in March won 4-2 at Princes Park, having been 2-0 down.

He said: "It was a comfortable scoreline in the end. They have been difficult opponents for us. They are full of experienced players.

"It's strange that they're in the position they are in but having said that I thought we played really well first half.

"To be fair to Whitehawk they came at us and forced quite a few corners but I'm pleased with the result."

Hawks enjoyed a spell early in the second half when they struck the bar and then won a controversial penalty when Brian Howard went down under the challenge of an incensed Elliot Bradbrook.

Burman added: ""I'm disappointed we conceded the goal, though it was from a penalty I don't think was a penalty at all.

"I thought we probably could have increased our scoreline in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

"(They had) a little spell because we didn't increase our lead, they hit the bar from a corner then got the penalty. It was their time. It became difficult but really we should have increased the lead."

Darts were missing the unavailable Duane Ofori-Acheampong but managed to find the net three times with forwards Pugh and Murphy both on target and Burman admitted: "It's very pleasing. Duane's been exceptional for us but the others have all chipped in really.

"There was some good football played, particularly the first 15 minutes of the second half, we got behind them, but the final pass was just not quite right.

"That's where you need to be a bit more ruthless and probably should have increased your lead."
