BURMAN: "The players have got the opportunity to stay involved in what happens at the top of the table and they’re primed up for it"

DARTFORD manager Tony Burman is searching for answers as to whether his side have what it takes to mount a promotion bid.

The side enjoy a well earned rest this weekend, with Burman sending the players off with plenty to ponder.

Darts have entrenched themselves within the Southern League Division 1 East promotion picture and Burman wants to know if the players can scrap with the elite.

He said: "I’m asking the question of the players. They have done a little more than okay but is that good enough?

"We’ve got 14 matches to play and I’m asking them if they want to possibly make the season even better and try to attempt to get involved in what happens at the end of the season.

"They’ll give me the answer in their performances. They’ve got the opportunity to stay involved in what happens at the top of the table and they’re primed up for it."

Just one league defeat in three months has pushed Darts well among the clubs looking for a route into the Southern Premier. But Burman has stated he’s not yet ready to assess the club’s promotion prospects.

He added: "We’ve got to ask a few questions in mid-February if we’re still involved, which it looks like we will be."
