Loan striker Matt Godden is open to the prospect of staying with Dartford for longer than a month.

The 22-year-old Scunthorpe forward scored on his Darts debut in midweek after learning the names of his new team-mates by watching them on DVD.

Godden’s contract with the League 2 club is up at the end of the season and he is already weighing up his future options.

A successful spell at Princes Park could either earn him a new deal at Glanford Park or land him a move elsewhere.

Godden said: "I’ve got permission, maybe, to extend (the loan), if I’m going to be happy here. By the look of the lads, the manager and the surroundings, I can’t see myself not being happy.

"But it’s the other end that matters. If Scunthorpe want me back, I’m a Scunthorpe player and I have to go back.

"If not, I’ll just carry on scoring goals here. People know that once I get one, they all come.

"It’s a massive year for me, whether it’s at Scunthorpe or whether it’s here.

"I need to try to get back into Scunthorpe’s first team but also I need to look at the bigger picture for next year."
