Dartford boss Tony Burman could complete his summer transfer business after Saturday’s pre-season opener at Canvey Island.

Players who have been training with the Darts will feature as trialists in Essex, after which Burman will decide whether to sign them or let them go.

It’s a process which he wants to wrap up sooner rather than later.

Burman said: "Decisions will be made on those guys after Saturday’s game at Canvey.

"We’ll have a few players there but I’m not looking to change the full XI at half-time or anything like that.

"We want to get the players a certain amount of minutes over the whole of pre-season, so hopefully we can do that."

All six of Dartford’s friendlies are being away from Princes Park, where a new pitch has been laid in readiness for the new season.

Burman’s men visit Thurrock on Tuesday, Folkestone Invicta next Saturday, Phoenix Sports on July 21, Leatherhead on July 25 and VCD Athletic on July 28.

Burman said: "The games are going to be important for team bonding. It’s going to be difficult with so many changes in the first team but we’ll be looking to improve as the games go on.

"There will be some strange results and some of the performances might not be up to what we’re expecting but I just want to get the cobwebs out and for the guys who have come in to feel comfortable."
