Charlton will start the new football season at home to Bristol Rovers on Saturday, August 5.

Three days later they visit Exeter City in the Carabao Cup first round before another trip to the south-west to face newly-promoted Plymouth in League 1 on Saturday, August 12.

Karl Robinson's side host Northampton on August 19 before heading to Rotherham on August 26.

Their first meeting with one of the relegated Championship clubs comes on Tuesday, September 12 when Wigan Athletic visit The Valley.

Charlton make the short trip to play Gillingham at Priestfield on September 16.

Four games in nine days either side of Christmas see the Addicks host Blackpool on December 23 before away trips to Southend on Boxing Day and Wigan on December 30 and then a home game against Gills on New Year's Day.

Robinson takes Charlton to face his old club MK Dons on Saturday, February 17.

The season finishes on Saturday, May 5 with the Addicks away to Rochdale in a 5.30pm kick-off.
