Peter Tucker lived up to his billing at the 39th Dartford Half-Marathon, writes Alan Newman.

Tucker (Blackheath & Bromley Harriers) won the race in 2008 and 2013 and is a second-claim member of the host club, Dartford Harriers. With local knowledge of the course he was the hot favourite and delivered to win the Kent Championships race by half a mile in 1hr12min49sec.

Silver and bronze went to strong finishers Colin Tricker (Paddock Wood, 1:16.03) in a personal best and Mark Wilkins (Medway & Maidstone, 1:16.10), with the top six completed by Guy Jenner (Tunbridge Wells Harriers, 1:16.15) and Dartford Road Runners’ duo Terry Reeves (1:16.36) and Sam Procter (M40, 1:17.15).

Dartford Road Runners took the men’s team gold from Tunbridge Wells Harriers and Cambridge Harriers.

Tina Oldershaw (Paddock Wood) raced to the women’s individual and W45 masters’ gold medal in 1:24.19. The England masters’ international, winner in 2007 and 2008, was clear of Andrea Green (So Lets Go Running, 1:25.03) with Ann Fuller (Dartford Road Runners, 1:34.08) a distant third for Kent bronze.

Team gold went to Orpington Road Runners from Paddock Wood and Dartford Road Runners.
