After receiving his international clearance, Dean Morgan made his Welling debut up front and took just 12 minutes to open his account.

Adam Coombes played in Pierre Joseph-Dubois, who showed great vision to unselfishly square for Morgan to tap into an empty net.

Five minutes later, Joseph-Dubois won the ball off left-back Jack Kelly but his chip over keeper Jamie Butler also went over the bar.

Welling were 2-0 ahead on 26 minutes with another stunning goal. Coombes found himself on the left-hand side of the penalty area and worked himself enough space to powerfully finish into the far corner.

Hemel immediately replaced Arnaud Mendy with Jonathan McNamara, the former storming down the tunnel.

Rickie Hayles headed a free-kick straight at Butler before the break as the hosts were in total control.

After the break, they had three chances to add a third and the misses proved costly. Butler kept his side in the game with fine saves to turn away efforts from Coombes and Ali Fuseini.

Hemel pulled one back on 65 minutes when Kelly worked his way down the left wing, exchanged passes and had enough room to finish beyond Chris Lewington.

Then just two minutes later, with Welling's defence all at sea, the ball bounced over Lewington for Jake Robinson to finish into an empty net.

Welling should have regained the lead on 81 minutes but Coombes burst clear and tried to round Butler, who managed to produce an excellent save.

The visitors wrapped the game up three minutes from time when James Potton went clear and lobbed Lewington.
