Dartford FC boss Tony Burman reveals former Dover Athletic defender Tom Wynter will be out for at least four weeks

Dartford boss Tony Burman says defender Tom Wynter will be out of action for at least a month.

Wynter suffered a small hairline fracture to his ankle during the Darts' Kent Senior Cup tie against Welling United last week.

The left-back only joined Dartford last month after being released by Dover Athletic.

Burman said: "Tom’s not played a lot of games for Dover but he had started to get his fitness up to where he and we wanted it.

"He wanted to play in the Welling game and we wanted him to play but during the game someone landed on his ankle.

"It’s only a small fracture but it’s going to take at least four weeks for him to get back to training. It’s a massive blow for us.

"We brought Tom in because he’s a good player but also because he’s a good character to have around the place. That was a major part of why we signed him, because of his personality.

"It’s a blow to us but we’ll look after him and hopefully he gets back to fitness as soon as possible."
