Sick - Swanley mother's verdict on grave vandals

Claire Walkling by daughter Chloe's graveA mother has branded as “sick” the vandals who torched her stillborn daughter’s grave.

Claire Walkling says she was appalled and incensed by the damage, which left several toys, ornaments and keepsakes ruined.

The 28-year-old, who lost daughter Chloe while seven months pregnant, was greeted by the devastation in her latest visit to the graveyard in St Mary’s Church, Swanley, on Sunday (July 25).

Calling the grave her daughter’s “garden”, she said: “They had pulled the ornaments and things like little windmills off the garden and set them all on fire.

“I was so angry. It’s hard to describe in words how I feel. There are some I could say, but not many you could print. They’re just sick.”
