Audio: Chilling moment killer Michaela Sargeant lied to 999 operator about Dartford street shooting of Kevin McKinley
Michaela Sargeant has been jailed for eight years for killing Kevin McKinley in Dartford
A chilling recording of a 999 call made by lying shotgun killer Michaela Sargeant has been released today.
Speaking in a calm voice, the 25-year-old asked the operator: "I wonder if you can help me. My boyfriend's just had an argument outside my house and, to be honest with you, shots have been fired."
Sargeant tells how there has been a "disturbance" outside in which she heard two or three gunshots fired.
She also claimed people were shouting threats they were going to burn down her Dartford home.
But in fact, she was lying - and had herself fatally shot 32-year-old Kevin McKinley outside her house in Overy Street.
Sargeant was jailed for eight years today
after being convicted of manslaughter. Her 26-year-old partner Lewis Wickenden was jailed for five years after being found guilty of assisting an offender.
In the 999 call, Sargeant is heard saying: "Hiya there, I wonder if you can help me. My boyfriend's just had an argument outside my house and, to be honest with you, shots have been fired.
"I think they're out there now. I don't even know if my boyfriend's out there at all, but there's people all shouting.
"Shots just started firing - my boyfriend's getting beaten up. I think there's an ambulance outside now."

The operator asked: "Can you see any weapons? You mentioned shots being fired."
Sargeant: "I heard shots fired."
Operator: "How many shots did you hear?"
Sargeant: "Er, two or three."
Operator: "And who was it he was having an argument with? Someone outside or was it with you?"
Sargeant: "Somebody outside."
Operator: "Did you hear the contents of the arguments at all?"
Crying, Sargeant said: "I haven't got a clue. I really don't know what's happened."
Operator: "Has Lewis had any problems with anyone, then? Why have these people turned up?"
Sargeant: "I don't know - I haven't got a clue."

Operator: "Has anything like this happened before?"
Sargeant: "Yeah, we've had to ring you guys before."
Operator: "So it's still ongoing then?"
Sargeant: "Yeah, they're still shouting. I'm so scared - I don't even know if Lewis has been shot. I don't know."
Operator: "Stay nice and calm, you're doing brilliantly for me, Michaela."
Later, Sargeant also made up a tale during her police interview in which she denied picking up the gun.
She claimed her boyfriend went out to meet Mr McKinley and was punched in the head by the victim.

Sargeant also reported several other men came out of the bushes, one brandishing a knife and the other a gun. She said they then began assaulting Wickenden.
Sargeant later changed her story, revealing Mr McKinley had come towards her and she put the gun to his head and told him to leave her family alone.
The victim then walked away and Sargeant claimed the next thing she knew was the gun going off. She said she did not know she had shot him at that point until she "heard him screaming".
Passing sentence at Maidstone Crown Court today, Judge Jeremy Carey said of Sargent: "You lied to the 999 operator which was, on the face of it, a cool performance."
Of Wickenden, he said: "You lied, lied again and lied thereafter, both to the police and later again in interview."
