Lorry alight near crossing
A quarter of a ton of crushed glass spilled out onto a motorway when a lorry caught fire.
The lorry was heading down the M25 yesterday evening when its brakes overheated.
The heat caused the mud flaps and tyres to burst into flames.
Two holes were also burned into the lorry's trailer, which contained crushed glass.
This spilled out over the road leading into the Dartford tunnel.
Three fire crews and Highways Agency traffic officers were called out to tackle the blaze and secure the area.
Firefighters got to the lorry at 7.35 and put out the flames within half an hour, but stayed until close to 9pm to dampen down and help clear the area of glass.
No injuries were reported.
