Brushes at the ready for a painting that will be completed by the community and hung up for all to see in Dartford library.
To be eligible to paint one of the 60 squares, you must either live or work in Dartford.
The community art project has been organised by artist Stephen Oliver and forms a scene of the Saturday market in the High Street on a canvas 69” by 110”.
Mr Oliver’s work includes paintings of local landmarks, including Brooklands Lakes, Dartford Heath and the QE II Bridge.
He said: “All you have to do is come along to my gallery, tell me you’d like to take part, and I’ll book you a square on the canvas.
“Each square is approximately 12in by 12in. I’m aiming to get the artwork finished and installed in Dartford Library by February 3.
“It will be unveiled, with as much celebration as possible, on, or around, Saturday, February 8, which is National Libraries Day.
“In future years you will be able to take friends and relatives to the library, point out your square and proudly show off your work of art.”
Joining in with the painting are Janet Webb, Sharon Roberts and Clare Ayres
Mr Oliver’s gallery, in the Orchards Shopping Centre, is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm and until 5pm on a Saturday.
