Tony Burman looks to strengthen Dartford's squad following Jamie Day's departure

Tony Burman wants to strengthen his
squad after losing Jamie Day to the manager’s job at Blue Square
South Welling.
The Dartford boss, already having
to cope with the absence of winger Elliot Bradbrook to a long-term
injury, is now prepared to splash the cash freed-up by Day’s
departure and compensation paid by the Wings for the under-contract
midfielder.
Burman said: "Jamie has been
excellent for us for two years and brought a lot of professionalism
to the team.
"We didn’t want to hold him back
and he leaves us with no problems at all. I’ve said he can ring me
for advice whenever he needs."
He added: "It might free up some
money for a new signing. We are looking around. We have had two
major blows with Elliot out until January and now Jamie going."
The Darts will look to get back to
winning ways against fellow Ryman League Premier Division promotion
hopefuls Boreham Wood at Princes Park on Saturday.
Dartford drew 3-3 with struggling
Bognor at the weekend, a result which saw their lead over
second-placed Hastings cut to 11 points.
Boreham Wood, who have won five of
their last six games and are undefeated away since August, lie a
further four points back in third.
Burman warned: "They are a good
team and play good football.
"November will be a tough month for
us and if we can come through undefeated then I’d be very
pleased."
