Older heads are the target for
Dartford boss Tony Burman as he aims to finalise his squad ahead of
the start of their Blue Square Bet South adventure.
Burman released several players
following Dartford’s runaway Ryman League Premier Division title
triumph last season, and only three new faces have arrived at
Princes Park this summer.
Defenders Paul Goodacre and Tom
Champion have signed from Braintree and Chelmsford midfielder Ollie
Berquez has joined the Darts.
Burman said: "We are still talking to
a couple more players. The guys we are talking to have Conference
South experience.
"We have a few players who have played
at this level before, but we looked at the side and the average age
is down to 24 or 25.
"Ollie has experience in the
Conference and Conference South and we wanted to bring in some
experience. We want some experienced heads to come in to help us
get the right balance."
Burman also revealed he has invited "a
couple of guys" along for pre-season training.
One player who won’t be joining them
is Jamie Coyle, who has signed for Welling. Coyle and John Beales
had not been offered new deals but had been invited to pre-season
training.
