Dartford 1 Staines Town 1

Dartford ended a run of four straight defeats but stayed in
the Blue Square Bet South relegation zone after a 1-1 draw
against Staines at Princes Park on Tuesday night.
New loan arrival from AFC Wimbledon John Main started
upfront alongside George Purcell with Charlie Sheringham just
behind in a three-pronged attack.
However it was Lee Noble who went closest to an early opener
with a 20-yard side-footed effort which was saved by the Staines
keeper.
The front three combined to good effect when Sheringham found
Main who swung in a cross which Purclee diverted less than a yard
wide.
Tom Bonner flicked an Elliot Bradbrook free-kick onto the post
before Andy Young denied Scott Taylor's stinging shot at the other
end.
The opening goal arrived on 63 minutes and against the run of
play when Danny Gordon took advantage of some hesitant defending
and finished well into the corner.
However James White rescued a point for the Darts six minutes
from time when Main headed out wide where Bonner crossed for sub
Carl Rook (pictured) whose delightful backheel was bobbled into the
net by White.
The point was not however enough to haul the Darts out of the
bottom three.
