Dartford manager Tony Burman admits his offers for two Blue
Square Bet South strikers look like they have not been accepted,
although no official responses have been received.
Charlie Sheringham’s £25,000 move to AFC Bournemouth last month
left Burman with the task of replacing his leading goalscorer,
although his search looks unlikely to bear fruit this week.
Dartford made bids for two players at rival clubs last week.
Welling general manager Barry Hobbins confirmed that 13-goal
Andy Pugh has not been the subject of any interest but Tonbridge
boss Tommy Warrilow refused to confirm or deny rumours that Frannie
Collin, who has also hit 13 goals this season, was one of the
players.
Burman (pictured) said: "We’ve put offers in, we haven’t
officially heard back but it looks like the offers have not been
accepted.
"That’s the clubs’ prerogative and we’ll just keep our eye on
the situation. The clubs know we’ve made offers and it’s up to them
whether they make it official.
"The players I’ve offered money for, all of a sudden the
situations at their clubs might change. I haven’t got to bring
someone in just because other people tell me to. I don’t have to
work like that."
On Saturday, Weston-super-Mare visit Princes Park, having been
beaten 4-0 in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season.
