Bolton Wanderers 2 Charlton Athletic 0

Danny Haynes

Charlton were beaten for the first time in three months away from home when they lost 2-0 at Bolton on Saturday.

David Ngog scored twice in six minutes late in the second half to sink Chris Powell’s side.

It was harsh on the visitors, who had looked more likely to take the points until Ngog’s introduction just past the hour.

Two decent chances fell Danny Haynes’ way during the first half.

Haynes, pictured, was denied by a last-ditch Tyrone Mears challenge when through on goal early on, then he headed wide from Lawrie Wilson’s cross.

Bolton went in front on 74 minutes when Martin Petrov fed Ngog, who beat Ben Hamer, and Ngog clinched the points six minutes later.

The defeat leaves Charlton 14th in the Championship.
