Swanley's Sam Webb loses bid to reclaim British light middleweight title with points defeat to Blackpool's Brian Rose

Challenger Sam Webb failed to reclaim the British light
middleweight title after losing on points to Brian Rose on Friday
night.
Rose successfully defended his crown in front of his home
crowd in Blackpool, claiming a unanimous points victory.
Swanley-based Webb, pictured, may now quit the sport, having
fought 21 times in a largely successful professional
career. The 31-year-old won 18 of those bouts.
He clinched the British title himself in 2010, before losing it
in his third defence a year later to Prince Arron.
A comeback victory against hard-hitting Matthew Hall prepared
him for a fight against Rose at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens but the
judges scored the contest 116-113, 116-113, 116-112 in favour of
Rose.
