With two home games in the space of
four days, we’ve got to start making the most of The Valley.
Our matches against Middlesbrough on
Saturday and Cardiff on Tuesday look like daunting fixtures on
paper, with the two clubs third and first respectively in the table
before the weekend.
But over the past fortnight we have
proved that we can go to places such as Elland Road and Molineux
and not only get good results but deserve to get all three points.
We produced two fine performances to gain 1-1 draws against Leeds
But those displays will mean nothing
if we don’t back them up with wins at The Valley and improve our

of the great backing we received against Barnsley, when the stadium
was close to capacity.
And while our travelling fans are
seeing some good displays, we want to put on more of a show for the
bulk of our supporters. I got off the mark for the season in terms
of goals last weekend and it was great to score my first senior
goal for the club.

looked through the record books earlier this week and found that it
was almost exactly eight years since I last scored for the club,
against Arsenal for the under-18s. I have been known to get on the
scoresheet from time to time, though, and I scored six for
Stevenage last season, so if I’m pushed further forward down the
right, as has been the case in the last few matches, I’ll be
looking to contribute more.
