Burnley 0 Charlton Athletic 1

Danny Haynes

Charlton chalked up their third successive league win on Saturday as Danny Haynes scored the only goal of the game at Turf Moor.

Charlie Austin almost put Burnley in front with a header before Chris Solly hit the post for the Addicks.

The home side were then reduced to 10 men when Kieran Trippier was sent off for handball on the goal line. Johnnie Jackson took the penalty but Clarets keeper Dean Grant pushed his effort behind.

Burnley could still have opened the scoring, with Brian Stock and Michael Duff both going close.

However, the winning goal arrived on 69 minutes when Rob Hulse headed the ball into the path of Haynes, pictured, who converted the simple chance for his third goal in as many games.

Charlton are 14th in the Championship ahead of Saturday’s home match against Huddersfield Town.
