Charlton Athletic 0 Huddersfield 1

Charlton went out of the FA Cup with a whimper on Saturday.
Addicks boss Chris Powell, pictured, saw his team lose 1-0
at home to Championship rivals Huddersfield after making six
changes to the side who beat Watford on New Year’s Day.
The third-round tie was settled by an 11th-minute strike by
Jermaine Beckford, who beat keeper David Button from Adam Clayton’s
pass.
Beckford was brought down by last man Dorian Dervite as Charlton
were reduced to 10 men just before the hour.
The Addicks, who had barely mustered a shot, were galvanised by
the red card and at last forced Town keeper Alex Smithies into
action from a free-kick by Salim Kerkar, pictured.
Striker Yann Kermorgant wasted the chance to snatch a replay
when his late header missed the target.
Powell said: "We were down to 10 men at the end and trying
to create chances from nothing but the only real positive for me
was David Button showing that I’ve got two good goalkeepers."
