Charlton Athletic 0 Millwall 2

Chris Powell

Charlton boss Chris Powell said he was embarrassed by his side’s home form after a 2-0 derby defeat by Millwall on Saturday.

Second-half goals from Jermaine Easter and Shane Lowry condemned the Addicks to their third straight loss – and ninth in total – at The Valley and left them 15th in the Championship.

Powell said: “I’m just baffled by our home form. It’s not as if anything is being transmitted down from the supporters.

“They have been brilliant and were right up for it again and we just haven’t given it to them. I’m embarrassed and mystified by it.”

Bradley Pritchard fired over an early chance and saw a strike held by Lions keeper David Forde at the second attempt in a first half of few chances.

Substitute Easter latched on to a Richard Chaplow through ball to give Millwall the lead on 57 minutes.

The visitors clinched the points seven minutes later with a superb 35-yard free-kick from Lowry.
