Dartford chairman Dave Skinner backs manager Tony Burman and says financial stability is more important than staying in Skrill Premier
Dartford are not about to sack manager Tony Burman and they would rather get relegated than jeopardise their financial stability.
Club chairman Dave Skinner (pictured) has spoken out in support of Burman after eight straight defeats for the Darts in Skrill Premier.
That run has left them in deep relegation trouble but Mr Skinner insists the manager’s job is safe.
He said: "The board are fully behind Tony. We know the situation he’s in and the problems he’s had to deal with.
"We are a board of long-term stances rather than short-term panic.
"The kudos (of being in this league) is important but if it threatens the existence of the club, we’ll take whatever comes. If we have to go down, we’ll go down.
“We certainly want to stay in this division – it took us a long time to get here but ultimately, long-term stability is what’s important.”
