Adam Birchall’s loan spell at Dartford expired on Thursday but the striker doesn’t know yet whether he’s about to return to parent club Gillingham.
The 29-year-old joined the Darts on a five-month deal in the summer to help his recovery from serious knee ligament damage.
Birchall has played regularly for Tony Burman’s side but scored only two league goals – and now he’s waiting to learn his fate for the rest of the season.
He said: "Nothing’s been discussed. It’s pretty late in the day but there have been a lot of games lately.
"I’m enjoying my time at Dartford and if I do go back, I don’t want it to be on the back of a losing streak.
"If there’s an opportunity at Gillingham, I’d like to explore that. But at the same time, apart from the results, I’ve enjoyed playing for Dartford and under Tony Burman.
"It’s been hard work and the results haven’t been great but Dartford have got a great group of players and a good manager."
