Mike Scurfield from Cinque Port Music said: “There’s some excellent music on the programme.

“We’ve tried this year to play for our audience many pieces which have been written or arranged by members of the Royal Marines.”

The Captain General March written by former principal of Royal Marines Lt Col Sir Francis Vivian Dunn in 1949 and hits from the movies by former Corps Bandmaster Mike Dermott are among the selected pieces.

Last year the group marked 25 years since the All Stars was founded. The idea was to raise funds to support the families who suffered after the IRA bombing that killed 11 musicians of the Royal Marines School of Music in Deal on September 22, 1989.

Mr Scurfield said: “That’s what the Royal Marines do, they go on so we’ll go on.

“We draw people from all over the world and we’re committed to performing quality music.”

The previous concert attracted a total of 900 people. The band also welcomed the return of Lt Col Paul Neville, former principal director of music for the Royal Marines, as guest conductor.

Since their first concert they have raised more than £200,000 for Royal Marines charities, the Deal Memorial Bandstand Trust and many local charities nominated by members of the band.

Tickets for the concert are available now from Cinque Port Music. Prices start from £12. Call Mr Scurfield on 01304 210600 or visit www.cinqueportmusic.co.uk
