Royal Marine Allstars Band will play at the Winter Gardens in Margate in March

Former Royal Marine musicians will be back in action next month for an Allstars concert at the Winter Gardens in Margate.

The event on Sunday, March 23, at 7.30pm will see more than 100 former Royal Marine musicians play to mark 25 years of the annual event.

The Allstars Band organised their first concert very soon after the IRA bombing that claimed the lives of 11 Royal Marine musicians of the Royal Marines School of Music on September 22, 1989.

The Allstars Band set out to raise funds to support the families who suffered as a consequence of the bombing.

Since their first remarkable concert they have played annually, often to packed audiences, raising over £100,000 for Royal Marines Charities, the Deal Memorial Bandstand Trust and many local charities nominated by members of the band.

This year’s concert will include a number of special features including the 11 Empty Spaces Exhibition.

Tickets for the concert are available now from Cinque Ports Music, call Royal Marines musician Mike Scurfield on 01304 210600.
