John Sheridan from Deal appeals for information after his car was hit in Church Lane

A plumber from Deal is appealing for information after his car was hit and the driver fled the scene.

John Sheridan, of Church Lane, said the accident could have happened any time between Wednesday and Friday when the vehicle was parked on his road.

It has caused at least £200 in damage to his NYPD police car Ford Crown Victoria.

Mr Sheridan said: “It’s taken the paint off the rear wheel arch and back bumper along with a dent in the rear arch and cracked bumper.

“The cars not exactly shoe and shine finish and had got other dents and scratches but it’s not the point. If someone damages something they should at least make an effort to come forward and report it.”

He claims the problem is that the traffic in Church Lane where he lives is getting busier due to new housing and building estates which means the likelihood of incidents like this happening outside his home are on the up.

He has reported it to Kent Police and has been informed officers need witnesses to come forward to start the investigation.
